What to Expect from Your First Appointment


At The Foot Clinic, Coxhoe, we want you to feel comfortable and confident from the moment you walk through our door. Your first appointment is a chance for us to get to know you—and your feet—so we can provide the best possible care tailored to your needs.


What happens during your first visit:

  • Friendly welcome from our reception staff
    You will be ask to fill out your personal details and brief medical history. We'll ask you about any current concerns, relevant medical conditions (like diabetes or circulatory issues), and any previous foot problems.

  • Foot assessment:
    Your podiatrist will carry out a full examination of your feet, skin, nails, and, if needed, your footwear or walking pattern.

  • Treatment on the day
    If appropriate, we’ll carry out treatment during your first appointment—this may include nail care, hard skin removal, corn treatment, or managing any discomfort you’ve come in with.

  • Personalised advice
    You’ll receive clear guidance on foot care, footwear, and follow-up treatments if necessary. We’re happy to answer any questions you have.


How long does it take?


Appointments usually last around 30–40 minutes.


What should I bring?

  • Any medication list (if relevant)

  • Referral letter (if you have one—not required)

  • Your usual footwear (optional, but helpful)
